BMW Alpina // Forged

The BMW ALPINA Wheel; an all time classic.

The creator of such design, Burkard Bovensiepen, came up with the 20 spoke wheel as a simple solution to the aesthetic required for the design brief at the time. Burkard Bovensiepen was fascinated by the Fuch design, however as most cars of the time featured a 4-stud PCD, the aesthetic of a 5 spoke wheel and 4 stud design wouldn’t look quite right.

The solution was simple: 4 x 5 = 20. And this was it, a beautiful 20 spoke wheel which mathematically gave a gorgeous aesthetic which had never been seen before. Both a Porsche’s Such 5-Spoke and ALPINA’s 20-Spoke designs would optimally distribute the forces within the construction and it’s still clear to today that both have held their ground as two of the most iconic wheel designs to be produced.

At Rimscarnated, we realised certain specifications of the original ALPINA’s are simply unavailable or were never made in the first place. We have taken this as our design brief and has designed a wheel in which features all of the aesthetic of the ALPINA’s but has full customisability in the finish, size and offset. This allows the clients to choose the exact fitment they would like for their factory spec or fully modified BMW, both modern and classic.

As per all of our wheels, the centre is fully forged T6-6061 aluminium which then passes through a series of milling procedures. Starting from first cut, all the way to the fine milling process to smooth out any final radiuses and details. 

After this stage, the finishing process is next, which is begins with a sanding process performed by hand then then through our de-burring tumbler. Once the centre have passed through the first stage of finishing, they're then followed by either polishing, brushing or powder coating; all dependant on the choice you require for your wheels.
